A student may enroll at Northland Pioneer College and not be required to declare a major or file a degree plan until they have earned 12 or more credits. However, students seeking financial aid must enroll or be accepted for enrollment in a degree AND/OR certificate program.

- NPC also offers noncredit classes which do not apply to any degree/certificate programs.
