Course / Credit Load

A student achieves full-time status when he or she takes 12 or more credit hours. A student is considered part-time when taking 12 or fewer credits. You can take as few as one class per semester. Students may not carry more than 18 credits without special permission from the Vice President of Learning.

How many classes you should take per semester depends on several factors such as if you are working full-time and have family responsibilities. An NPC academic adviser can help you decide what is best for your particular goals and situation. We highly recommend that you speak to an NPC academic adviser before you register for classes.
